The history of this scrumptious delicacy called Baklava is quite controversial. Many ethnic groups such as the Greek, Turkish and Middle Easterners claim it as their own, and prepare it in their own ways. Did you know that in Turkey it is made by filling the layers of dough with pistachios, walnuts, almonds, and that in Greece it is supposed to be made with 33 dough layers exactly referring to the years of Christ’s life? Bet you didn’t know that!
Great snap by Castro.
