Now for those of you living in Melbourne, why not take a day trip to Phillip Island with the family this weekend? It’s a fantastic opportunity to experience one of Australia’s most loved attractions, that of watching the world’s smallest penguins returning ashore at sunset after a day’s fishing! You can watch them waddle up the Summerland Beach to the safety of their homes in the sand dune burrows from tiered seating that provide a 180 degree elevated viewing or can enjoy an up-close viewing through an underground viewing window! Now since this only takes place later on in the day, you can also spend some time at the Nobbies Centre, immersing yourself in a phenomenal multimedia wildlife experience called the Antarctic Journey, as well as at the Koala Conservation Centre, exploring tree-top boardwalks for superb up-close viewings of koalas, wallabies, echidnas, and colorful native birds!
