Isn’t this picturesque? Towering above the beautiful German town of Cochem on the Moselle River, the Reichsburg Cochem castle is a sight to behold. While it is not the original castle that stood there, as French King Louis XIV and his troops obliterated it in 1689, it had a long and interesting history. It was rebuilt after 180 years by a wealthy businessman from Berlin called Louis Ravené, who decided to purchase the remaining ruins and bring back its glory!
