Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque – Iran

Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque.jpg

One of the most beautiful Iranian monuments in Esfahan is definitely the Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque built during the Safavid Empire. It was inspired by Shaykh Bahai, during the reign of Shah Abbas I of Persia, and was to be used as a private area for the royal court unlike the Shah Mosque that was accessible to anyone. The arabesque patterns, vibrant colors and beautiful caligraphy are a sight to behold!
