On October 18th and 19th, Indians all over the world had been celebrating the beautiful “Festival of Lights” called Diwali/Deepavali. It is one of the most important holidays of the year and gets its name from the row (avali) of clay lamps (deepa) that people light outside their homes to symbolize the inner light that protects them from spiritual darkness. While different regions have different interpretations of the story behind this festival, one common thread is that it marks the triumph of good over evil. Isn’t this photograph taken at the Golden Temple in Amritsar breathtaking?
